Multi-Processor : Typically used to refer both to hardware with more than one CPU, and kernels that are capable of scheduling threads on more than one processor. Contrast with Uni-Processor. On AIX, the MP kernel is found at /usr/lib/boot/unix_mp. Note that the AIX 64-bit kernel is MP by default.
